A Year Already?!

Wow! True to the name of the blog, my posting has been not very daily. In fact, it was just today as my dad and I were discussing my sister's blog (whitts-adventures.blogspot.com) that I remembered I had a blog. So I reached back into memory and desperately tried to remember how to even log on. Then realized it's been OVER A YEAR since I last updated this thing. Sheesh!

I thought back over the year and realized some pretty awesome changes have occurred since that last post.
  • I've finished two more semesters at New Mexico Tech
  • I've decided to go to medical school and get my M.D.
  • I've gotten a roommate!
  • And a cat
  • I realized I'm considerably more artistic than I realized previously
Over last summer I participated in an internship which entailed getting up every morning at dawn and digging pits in the NM desert. For SCIENCE! While it was a very interesting experience, and one I'm glad I participated in, it definitely gave me a good idea of what grad school would be like in the Earth Sciences. It gave me such a good idea, that I realized I don't want to do that the rest of my life (or even the next four years).

This realization led to the most interesting change thus far: the decision to go to Med School. It's a seemingly monstrous feat; just being accepted will be the magnum opus of my life to date. However, I realized it's much preferred over digging holes or petitioning for research money.

So far, I have started shadowing a local physician and love getting into the medical environment. Up next: MCAT! Hopefully I'll update the blog before that occurs :)

  1. I had no idea you'd decided to give med school a shot! That's awesome :) What made you pick that, now that you're nearly done with your EES undergrad?

  2. My favorite Molly quote from last week: "Hey, *I've* got a Blog AND a Muslim friend."

    And so you do.

I'm glad you're back into writing it!
